MCKEE HISTORIC COVERED BRIDGE
Welcome to our McKee Historic Covered Bridge, located in the beautiful Upper Applegate Valley, gateway to Applegate Lake and the Red Butte Wilderness Area in southwestern Oregon. Come visit the cool interior on a hot summer day; see the moody winter river through the south wall openings; listen to the echos of time.
For those of you who are not familiar with our Bridge, we would like to point out that McKee Bridge is one of only four Covered Bridges left in Jackson County (at one time, there were about 100). This Bridge is Jackson County’s oldest and longest (at 122 feet), and it is also the highest at 45 feet.
The Bridge has always been an attraction for our local people, and for visitors from within the state of Oregon, from out-of-state and from many foreign countries. So you see, our community has something of which to be proud.
This website is presented by the McKee Bridge Historical Society to promote and to maintain public interest in the Bridge and surrounding areas. The Society is also tasked to raise and maintain funds necessary to keep the Bridge safe, sound, and presentable for present and future generations to enjoy.
The McKee Bridge Historical Society is a volunteer, non-profit, 501(3)(c) organization. All contributions are tax deductible.
